Gag me with a spoon.

One of the projects being worked on in the office right now (and, thankfully, it's not mine) is some historical Kentucky retrospective website, replete with sepia-toned photos and cheesy synthesizer music. I overheard today that there is an epilogue which refers to the United States as a body with Kentucky as its heart.

This is quite possibly the only time the phrase "gag me with a spoon" has been truly appropriate.

(If the U.S. is a body, then Kentucky could be the tar-coated lungs, perhaps, or even the fetal alcohol syndrome-affected child suckling at a burbon bosom, but a heart? A trusted drug dealer supplying you with dime bags? Ok. But seriously? A heart?)

LMAO. I think you're right... KY is definitely not the heart of the US... but then again neither is TN... I love your metaphors though. ;)
