Yarn School!

Behold my nerdiness: I have just registered to go to the Harveyville Yarn School this September, and have bought my ticket. I am still scheming to figure out how to take my spinning wheel along (Dear Jane bought a new one and sold me her Ashford Traveller for the bargin price of $175 + a small tv), but I am 95% certain that without a disgustingly large and heavy suitcase that it won't happen. As I am also 99.99% certain that I won't take the time to search out a disgustingly large and heavy suitcase, we can assume I will use a wheel provided by the school, and the Traveller will stay home. (It really is a Traveller only by foot or car or train or ferry. Notsomuch by airplane.)

For those who want more info on my Traveller: It is standard (no lace flyers or quills, etc.) single treadle. I had borrowed it from Jane some time back to learn to spin on, and am very comfortable with it. It's a good midgrade wheel, I think.

I am going to start scouring thrift stores for a ridiculously large hard suitcase for my traveler; do you want me to grab one for you if I find an extra? My spending limit for this is $10 so we can just donate them back when we are finished. I call this renting.

If you ever want to try my quill, just yell. I can't spin on it so I am going to have to take lessons.
