Telephonically Inclined

My new phone is ordered and should be here on Friday. I didn't get anything fancy; I'm saving that for the next generation of iPhones. I have a feeling Hubby and I will be gifting them to each other as Yule presents.

I have to say, after the huge amounts of guilt and self-loathing I went through for even getting a cell phone (on which my editor has NEVER ONCE called me *sigh*), I am equally dismayed to find out that I suddenly can't live without one. Well, to be fair, we don't have a landline, so being at home alone without my cell is a little less secure-feeling. (If only I could contact 911 online!) But even so I have gotten used to it being my clock and contact-point for a million little things. I use the alarm function to remember to take my pills, I am often organizing things where I need to be available to answer questions, etc.

I'm sure it will give me brain cancer.
