Friday was R's last work day at her day job. She is now 100% self employed. I don't think I've ever seen her this happy! We celebrated at Marika's, which happens to be right next to the Lexington Drum Center, where I picked up a pair of 5B wood tip Vic Firth drumsticks. *drool*

Friday morning I looked at Hubby and said, "Is today the 3rd?" He checked his phone and said yes. "Hey, it's our 10-year anniversary!" "Oh, hey, that means our wedding anniversary was yesterday, or at least one of them was." "Oh yeah! Happy anniversary!" We've been saying, "TEN YEARS?!?" ever since. And yes, we've decided on a tattoo design. I'll post a pic when I get it drawn up.

On Saturday the Smiffins made it official and tied the knot. Wouldn't you know that as I got out of the car and grabbed my camera it yelled at me to change the batteries, of which I had none? (My spare batteries were the ones that had just died. I need to keep better track of spares.) The ceremony was sweet and godless, unlike the wedding two weeks ago that was all about Jeebus and less about the two getting hitched, which I found quite refreshing. I have to say, it was the first wedding where I almost cried--mainly because I thought Ms. Smiffin was going to start up mid-ceremony and had she shed tears I was surely doomed. But we both kept it together.

J and Gigi were there as well, so we hung out with them some and had a late lunch/coffee after. We've seen them about four times this year and it's not yet December!

Sunday I locked myself in the office for nearly 13 hours to finish up the new AC issue. Me + September = Bad Time Management. I still failed to really get it all up and had to phone it in at the end (making two extra projects into surprises when they should have been in the issue).

Needless to say, it's Monday and now I am very tired. I just caught myself nodding off in the bathtub a few minutes ago (I'm not there now, obviously, laptop or no) so I figured I'd spew verbally for a bit before heading off to bed.

It was a good weekend, if a bit long. But, as Carnival keeps reminding me, only 21 days until our cruise to Mexico, which hopefully will be plus de fun and moins de motion sickness.
