Bright Spots

Ok, so after my last post about how much 2008 sucked—which it did, and mightily—I started thinking and figured it would be just as important to pull out the good things that happened to keep myself from entering that year-end downward spiral.

It was the first year of the AC with Ne, which was good and bad and wonderful and bittersweet all at once. My editors, they fucking rock, even when mistakes are made (mine or theirs). I must admit that picking out four total strangers and adding them to the AC mix was a potentially disastrous decision, but it worked. We really are a team, we really do enjoy each other's company, we really do keep crankin' it out. And honestly, I'd say this year that I've messed up more on the AC than they all have put together, mostly with my lack of time management skilz.

I met a lot more crafters this year and made new friends and good connections. I'm actually pretty well set to do some majorly awesome things if I can just get my act together. 2009 is fairly full of promise in this respect. This is why the "I feel like I'm always behind" wail from the previous post is so distressing. I don't want to miss these opportunities, but I don't want to live on the edge of complete collapse from exhaustion like I did in college. I just physically can't anymore, not without serious days upon days of recharge time, which are not available when one has a full time 8a-5p day job.

But best and most recently, I got to really stretch my illustrating wings for some CD cover art, which is my secret passion:
