Dilemma of the Day

Ten days until I go to Puerto Rico. Twelve days until I do my presentation. Should I do it in Spanish? I'd have to write it out ahead of time and memorize large chunks of it, but it's not like I couldn't have lecture notes up there with me. And really, the stuff I stand up and say only takes about 10 or 15 minutes. I'm not worried about the memorizing so much, just the grammatical correctness. But in a way I feel like my whole life has been leading up to if not this exact moment, then a moment very similar to it: Standing up and communicating well (if not flawlessly) in another language. Seriously. Know what I did for fun last night? Looked up the past tenses of ser and estar and then read a long list of Spanish idiomatic expressions with verbs. I think if I don't take this chance then I'm going to be very disappointed in myself for a very long time to come.

why the hell not? run it by someone in the spanish department if you're worried about it...isn't there something about "if you embarrass yourself in puerto rico, it stays in puerto rico"

don't forget the boy is fluent and makes a good conversation partner if you want someone to practice on.
